Density is defined as the density of the atmosphere. This is calculated using the molecular weight, pressure and temperature. This is in turn used to calculate the drag on the spacecraft.

Density = molecular weight * pressure / 8314 ( J * K / kmol ) / temperature

Drag = 0.5 * coefficient of drag * density * frontal area * airspeed^2

This is used in atmospheric spacecraft, multi stage spacecraft, and spacecraft cost.

To calculate a density please modify any of the formboxes and click on the calculate density button.

Environment
Molecular Weight
Pressure ( N / m^2 )
Temperature ( K )
Density ( kg / m^3 )
