The fast screen refresh checkbox determines whether the screen should be reloaded from the browser cache instead of from the web server, which can in some cases be faster. However, on some browsers, mine included ( Netscape on Linux ), it seems to load from the web server anyways, so no time is saved. This needs cookies to be on to work at all, if cookies aren't on, the script will load from the web server, regardless of the state of this checkbox. Also, the address is not changed in the address bar, so you can't bookmark the parameters you've chosen directly; instead, once you have parameters that you'd like to bookmark, it is necessary to click the link at the bottom of the page with the current parameters, then bookmark the page. Because there are many disadvantages to this option, the default is off.

The best way to have this program reload quickly is to download the zipped version of all these GPL scripts onto your hard drive. The links on those scripts will still point to the web site; but, at least you'll be able to reload the analysis pages quickly.
