Initial labor is defined as the cost of the labor required to build a stage of the spacecraft. Initial labor ranges from five hundred dollars for a seven kilogram model to twenty five million for a Saturn V class stage. In a competent organization, initial labor is a small part of overall cost.
In rocket cost given construction hours and labor rate initial labor can be calculated which is in turn used to calculate total rocket cost.
initial labor = initial hours * labor rate
total rocket cost = construction labor + pump cost + structure cost
In spacecraft cost given initial hours, labor rate and location labor multiplier initial labor can be calculated which is in turn used to calculate initial cost and total initial labor.
initial labor = initial hours * labor rate * location labor multiplier
initial cost = initial labor + initial structure
total initial labor ( second stage ) = initial labor ( first stage ) + initial labor ( second stage )
total initial labor ( third stage ) = total initial labor ( second stage ) + initial labor ( third stage )
