Total launch cost is the total cost of launching the stages of the spacecraft up to and including the current stage. For expendable spacecraft, launch structure is usually the largest component of the launch cost. For reusable spacecraft, launch labor is usually the largest component of the launch cost.
This is calculated at each stage after the first using the total fuel cost, total launch labor cost and total launch structure cost. Total launch cost is in turn used to calculate the orbital cost.
total launch cost = total fuel + total launch labor + total launch structure
orbital cost = total launch cost / orbital payload
This is used in spacecraft cost.
